Motley Crue, along with dozens of other heavy metal bands, is featured on the new action-adventure video game Brütal Legend.
Gamer fans will be treated to a few Crue tracks during the course of play, namely “Dr. Feelgood,” “Kickstart My Heart” and “Live Wire.” “Feelgood” was also used in the first story trailer for the game’s promotion.
Brütal Legend’s soundtrack is a heavy metal collection that spans the musical genre from hair and industrial metal to heavy and doom metal. All 108 tracks were specifically chosen by the game’s creator and developer Tim Schafer, a metal afficionado in his own right.
The game’s plot is the story of Eddie Riggs, voiced by actor/singer Jack Black, a roadie who is sucked into and then stuck in a fantasy world inspired by the artwork of heavy metal album covers. Eddie is the reluctant and unlikely hero battling evil forces to save the humans of this world enslaved by demons.
Brütal Legend is scheduled for release on October 13, 2009, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Other metal bands featured include Motorhead, Lita Ford, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Manowar, Anthrax and many more.

Crue’s drummer, Tommy Lee, has to sit out of a few CrueFest dates due to a hand injury sustained by playing with sparklers. Sparklers, really?!
Nikki Sixx confirmed the news on his MySpace blog, “Yes Tommy messed up his hand pretty bad, and yes accidents do happen and yes frustration does happen to everybody including Tommy who would rather play drums (even with a damaged hand) than just about anything in the whole world.”
He will miss a few shows, but the band opted to replace him rather than cancel any dates. Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose will fill in while Tommy recovers.
Sixx gushed about Rose, “I think Morgan needs a standing ovation for his dedication to kicking ass and helping not only Motley Crue out, but the road crew and everybody else out here whose life’s (sic) would been effected (sic)… Thank you bro.”

After two successful years, Motley Crue’s Crue Fest may be postponed until 2011, giving the band time to record its next album.
“I feel like we’re ending being out for quite a long time, touring and ‘Saints of Los Angeles’ and the Carnival of Sins and ‘Red, White & Crue,’” said bassist Nikki Sixx. “[We’re] really going away on a big high to start working on writing a new record and looking forward to the next Crue Fest, which’ll probably be in 2011.”
Sixx said that he and bandmates Mick Mars and Tommy Lee have all been working on new material for the band’s follow-up album from 2006’s “Saints of Los Angeles.” Currently all four members are working on solo projects.
“Any time any of us are writing, that always comes up,” said Sixx. “I was actually working on something the other day for Sixx:AM and immediately was like, ‘This is so Motley…’ It’s an interesting process; it can take anywhere from six months to a year, but the good news is there’s no rush, y’know?”

According to Motley Crue band member Vince Neil, the heavy metal rockers have tamed their act in recent years.
While they are playing at the Download Festival this summer, Vince said that life is more calm. “When You’re young and it’s your first tour, you hear these stories and you wanna trash your hotel room - that’s great, go ahead and do it.”
The wise owl he is, he added: “But at the end of the tour when they go and deduct for the broken TV and the broken furniture and you go ‘How come I didn’t make any money on that tour’ - then you go, “Oh!”
